Going-Electric history

Going-Electric was started in May 2008 as a "de facto" association by Jacques de Selliers and a few other Electric Vehicle afficionados. Their aim was to complement AVERE regarding European advocacy for EVs.

Since the association grew, it decided to become an international non-profit association under the Belgian law (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif AISBL), then named "European Association for Battery Electric Vehicles", abreviated as "Going-Electric".

The founding general assembly took place in Brussels on April 29 2009. Its creation was confirmed in a Royal Decree dated June 7 2009, which was published in the Belgian official journal "Le Moniteur" on June 24, 2009.
