Major risks and opportunities

Going-Electric's contribution to Question 4.2 of the European Commission's Consultation for a European strategy on Clean and Energy-efficient Vehicles.

Question 4.2: What are major risks and opportunities associated for different stakeholders?

As stated in our answer to question 4.1, Electric Vehicles (EVs) – including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs) – should be expected to replace Internal Combustion Vehicle (ICVs) in the medium future as long as governments provide sufficient consumer incentives to enable initial EV market penetration.

Automotive companies that early develop EVs and their parts will reap the benefits of this fast-growing market. Others risk of becoming laggards and loosing market shares.
